James "J.C." Campbell is of Cree/Ojibway and European decent. This Native Canadian Winnipeg born Singer/Songwriter's smoky pipes are reminiscent of the Bluesmen of past. J.C.'s soulful vocals ring honesty. J.C.’s humble nature adds to the intrigue, that few artists embody. Writing his own material, playing guitar and opening for artists such as Shane Yellowbird, Prairie Oyster, Mark Collie, Chris Bigford and Donny Parenteau has created a solid platform. His debut CD "Life Up 'Til Now" was originally intended as a series of acoustic demo songs. Nine tracks were recorded in three separate unplugged studio sessions and compiled for submission to the 2005 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards. The album was embraced by their committee and garnered nominations in both the "Best Folk Acoustic Album" and "Best Country Album" categories. The latest project "Lazy James" has 10 original tracks some of which he co-wrote with his fiance and fellow artist, Tracy Bone. This album is "a new beginning" for him in so many ways. Real love has brought J.C. new life and inspiration to "Keep On Tryin'". The songs on this project reflect his experiences on the hard road of life, realization and personal awakening.
